As a fitness professional with over ten years of experience working with people looking to improve not only the look of their bodies but also the quality of their lives I have been discovering what the true essence of health is and how to get there.

With the multitude of various fitness techniques and health practices I believe we have lost the simple focus of using exercise to improve how we use our bodies. It is this focus that provides the results that we all want.

The problem is that the stress in our lives has now even reached its hand into current recommended "health practices".

In my book, I describe the entire landscape of fitness training and health practices and how they fit into our daily lives.

The basic picture is:

  1. People's primary motivation to exercise is based upon fear and stress of gaining fat or not looking good.
  2. Exercise itself is a stress on the body. It is this stress that causes the body to change. Most of us would agree that our current way of life produces a great deal of stress. This stress creates a great deal of internal tension in our bodies.
  3. No Pain, No Gain - due to the desire for instant results our exercise programs are based upon pushing our overly tight bodies to their limits.
  4. The Basic Health Rule - pain causes our bodies and minds to close down and pleasure causes our bodies and minds to open.
